Tales of a Sketchy Bird 002-004
Harambe On Commercial
Harambe on Commercial was a great experience, very laid back and relaxed Ethiopian restaurant. It was my first time trying that genre of food so I have nothing to compare it to but I was told Harambe is a great place to try it out. Christine and I shared the combination platter for two and I had a glass of Ethiopian honey wine. They bring out your meal on a big pancake like bread. This bread is called injera a large sourdough flat bread that you eat with using your right hand to pick up bites of the entree. Overall I had a wonderful dinner in a very laid back slow environment.
In Swahili, harambe means “working together in unity” or “let’s pull together”. The harambe concept is used throughout Africa to initiate projects that require people to work together and pool their resources. In true African style, harambe is also one big party, uniting the community while working together toward the chosen cause.
I am down.
